ciee - council on international educational exchange

Why CIEE?

CIEE: Council on International Educational Exchange, a leading non-profit provider of international cultural education since 1947, is a department of state designated sponsor of high school exchange programs in the U.S. Each year, over 1,400 high school students from 55 countries participate in our high school programs. CIEE programs are approved by the Council on Standards for International Education Travel (CSIET), and CIEE is actively partnered with the Department of State, sponsoring several international student Grant programs.

At CIEE, we believe that growing the next generation of leaders who can adapt quickly to changing realities is possible through student exchange, which is why we continue our commitment to the future of international exchange. Our extensive experience goes beyond high school-level programs, having operated exchange programs for six decades, sending nearly 50,000 participants around the world annually. We are accomplishing our mission through diverse programs ranging from secondary level to teacher and faculty development seminars. Our staff of over 400 world-wide are highly trained and devoted to providing the highest level of service to our global partners and program participants.
